THE HISTORY OF SAINT-GOBAIN

With a long international history, which began in France in 1665 when the Royal Glass Works was established, the Saint-Gobain group is now the world leader in sustainable habitat, providing innovative solutions to save energy and protect the environment.

Saint-Gobain was established by French Minister Jean-Baptiste Colbert along with Louis XIV in order to provide glass production at an industrial scale for the first time in history. Saint-Gobain has a central presence held in Paris, France where the Executive Committee headed by Company Chairman & CEO Pierré-Andre de Chalendar are based.

Saint-Gobain celebrated its 350th anniversary, 350 reasons to believe in the future in 2015. Backed by its experience and capacity to continuously innovate, Saint-Gobain, creates and delivers innovative and high-performance solutions to enhance our habitat and our daily life.
